Studies on the Elevation of Purity of Salt by the Addition of Some Metallic Ions

Abstract
The data presented show the effect of some metallic ions such as PB^2+ and Mn^2+ on the output and purity of sodium chloride from the brine by the eveaporation. The evaporation of brine was carried out either by the solar evaporation or by the direct heating evaporation.
Lead ion(Pb^2+)were added to the natural sea brine in the concentrations of 1/10,000,1/8,000,1/6,000,1/4,000 and 1/2,000 of sodium chloride cintents as molar-ratio and Mn^2+ were added in the six different molar-ratios of 1/300,1/200,1/100,1/50,1/25 and 1/15 of sodium chloride.
The addition of Pb^2+ Mn^2+ could result in the elevation of the purity at the sacrifice of output, moreover, could result in the elevation of the salt output, especially in the case of Mn^2+ by the solar evaporation. In the latter case, the optimum condition of molar-ratios of Mn^2+ to sodium chloride found to be 1/100¡1/200.
